This Strawberry Iced Tea combines the robust flavor of black tea with the sweetness of fresh strawberries and a touch of lemon for a refreshing summer beverage. Perfect for cooling down on hot days!
Ingredients:
- 8 cups of water
- 4-5 black tea bags (you can also use green tea bags if preferred)
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice (optional, for a citrusy twist)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Additional strawberry slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Boil the Water: In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Brew the Tea: Remove the pot from heat and add the tea bags. Let them steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
- Prepare the Strawberry Syrup:
- In a separate saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and the remaining 4 cups of water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes, or until the strawberries are very soft and the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the strawberry mixture, pressing down on the strawberries to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the strawberry pulp.
- Mix the Tea and Strawberry Syrup: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea and the strawberry syrup. Stir well.
- Add Lemon Juice: If you like a hint of citrus, add the fresh lemon juice and stir to combine.
- Chill the Tea: Refrigerate the tea for at least 2 hours, or until it is well chilled.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled strawberry iced tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and additional strawberry slices if desired.
- Enjoy!: Your refreshing strawberry iced tea is ready to be enjoyed!
Feel free to adjust the sweetness and the strength of the tea to suit your taste. Enjoy your refreshing drink!
